You own a nice home and a friendly neighborhood, but are you really safe and protected? Keep your house protected at all times. Follow these tips and apply them to your own house:
1. Check deadbolt locks and alarm systems. If you train yourself and the rest of the household to always check locks and security systems, you’ll never have problems safeguarding your property. If you’re using deadbolts, ensure that they fit perfectly in you exterior doors and screws. Then again, if you’re using an alarm system, make sure that it is engaged or is in operation day in and day out. You’ll never know when burglars will attack, so you have to be prepared all the time.
2. Security locks on windows are a must. Do not provide locks for your doors alone, but secure window locks as well. You can also mount in security devices on sliding windows that could alarm and frighten a burglar should someone desire to get in.
3. Solid door frames and window bars must be sturdy. These common entry points should be given emphasis especially when installing frames and bars. Excellent frames and bars are those that could stand a tremendous impact and excessive blow, one that isn’t easily breakable, and one that is firmly attached to doors and windows.
4. Ladders, hand drills, and other hardware equipments must be kept in a safe place. You wouldn’t want to help burglars break and force an entry into your house by leaving these tools and equipments just beside doors and windows. As much as possible, store them away. Don’t let a simple negligence lead to bigger risks.
5. Do not be too complacent. Just because you have home security devices by your side, doesn’t mean you’ll slumber like you don’t care at night and slack off during the day. Be vigilant, cautious, and curious about suspicious things.
Don’t let an unpleasant incident ruin your peaceful living, as long as you have time, plan and organize home security safety defenses that you may find useful, especially on trying and perilous moments.
